DAYTON -- The old Elder Beerman building on Siebenthaler Road in Dayton turned into a soggy mess Friday afternoon. Fire crews say the owner of the building turned the heat off, thinking the water was already turned off, but it wasn't.
The week of sub-freezing temperatures froze those pipes and they burst, spilling about two inches of water throughout the large building. Some water also got into the basement of the neighboring Kings Furniture store.
