MIAMI TWP. - Police in Miami Township are asking for your help in finding a man they say attacked and beat another man inside a Walmart.
The incident happened on December 30th at the store on Kingsridge Road. An assistant manager called 911, telling the dispatcher, "I have a man that came running into the store with his face bloody his nose looks broken and his face is bloody mess."
Police say they know who carried out the assault, Anthony Russell Murphy. Surveillance video from the store shows a man in a white sweatshirt walking into the store, and then just moments later Anthony Murphy walks in wearing a black hoodie with two other men.
A few minutes later, you see the victim running from the clothing department toward the front of the store with Murphy chasing after him. The victim was beaten pretty badly.
Det. Mike Siney of the Miami Township Police department says the victim was hospitalized for his injuries, "His cheekbone was broken, his nose, his jaw, and he had several facial fractures. He's already had one surgery where his mouth was wired shut and he's due for a few more surgeries."
Murphy is no stranger to the law, "He has convictions for aggravated assault, obstructing and aggravated menacing.'', Detective Siney told us.
Murphy is also known member of the Aryan Brotherhood gang, which is why police say it's important to get him off the streets. If you know where Anthony Murphy is call police at 433-4400.
