DAYTON -- A house is burglarized Thursday night while children watch TV upstairs, unaware of the intrusion.
Dayton Police say two children were watching TV in their upstairs bedrooms about 11:30 p.m. when they heard their dog barking from downstairs. Their mother was not at home.
According to police, someone entered the home and chased the dog out of the house, likely using a broomstick, which was left behind.
After the dog was out of the way, they made off with a 28-inch Sony flat-screen television, 55-inch Vizio flat-screen television, a Blu-Ray player, a cell phone and gold watch.
When the mother returned home she found the dog waiting to get back inside and a tear in a the front window screen, where she believes the burglars entered the home.
