Former Firefighter Sentenced; Avoids Jail Time

CLARK COUNTY -- A former lieutenant for the German Township Fire Department was sentenced Tuesday to 180 days in jail on one count each of furnishing alcohol to a minor and unlawful restraint.

The judge, however, suspended the sentence, meaning Robert Oldham will spend no time in jail. He will spend 60 days on house arrest and pay court fines of $500. He also was ordered to undergo two years of intensive probation.

The 30-year-old Oldham also was required to surrender his law enforcement certificate and will be unable to apply with other departments.

CLARK CO.--A German Township fire lieutenant once charged with rape has now struck a plea deal.
  
Robert Oldham is accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year old woman and today pled guilty to two lesser charges.

The rape charge was dropped in exchange for "furnishing alcohol to a minor" and unlawful restraint.  Oldham also gave up his "peace officer certification" and agreed to resign from any civil position.

He's scheduled to be sentenced on January 15th.

Fire Lieutenant Indicted on Rape Charge

GERMAN TOWNSHIP -- A fire lieutenant has been indicted on a charge of rape.

Robert Oldham, 30, of 1407 Kingsgate Road, Springfield, is accused of raping a 19-year-old woman at a party.

Fire Department officials say Oldham has been on paid administrative leave since his arrest July 19.

GERMAN TOWNSHIP -- A fire lieutenant has been arrested, accused of raping a 19-year-old woman.

Robert Oldham of the German Township Fire Department, pleaded not guilty to the charges Thursday in a Clark County courtroom.

According to an arrest report, Oldham is accused of raping someone at a party. The victim had been drinking.

His bond today was set at $10,000.

Oldham has been with the department for 15 years. Tonight, he's on paid administrative leave.
