ARCANUM, DARKE COUNTY -- Darke County Sheriff's Office declared a "Level Three Snow Emergency" Wednesday afternoon.
That means only emergency vehicles are allowed on the roads.
Conditions in the county, including Arcanum, are dangerous and quickly deteriorated throughout the day.
"They are slick, if you're not experienced I advise you to stay at home," Gary Wagoner, lives in Greenville.
It was difficult for snow plows to keep up with the snow because they couldn't keep up with the snow fall.
It was the slick roads, and heavy snow that forced Darke County Sheriff to declare the rural roads unsafe.
"This is unbelievable out here, and a lot of people trying to get somewhere," said Wagoner, "It's very slow going, very dangerous."
In the Village of Arcanum, people are trying to dig themselves out.
"Trying to get out on the road," said Don Oliver, lives in Arcanum, "But I don't think I'm going any where. Just like everybody else, stay home be warm."
As everyone decides to stay home, the kids come out to play.
But if you have to hit those snow covered roads, a little advice.
"Drive very careful, slow down and watch for the other people on the road themselves," said Oliver.
