VANDALIA--While most restaurants closed for Christmas so workers could feast with their families, there were a few local places
open for those that didn't have family or just wanted a holiday from cooking.
The parking lot at Shen's Szechuan & Sushi in Vandalia looked like a tailgating party.
Some families are making the meal a Christmas tradition.
"We typically get busy around three o'clock, late afternoon after they're done opening presents and stuff so it gets pretty nice," one diner said.
