MONTGOMERY COUNTY -- A man staying at a Vandalia hotel was arrested Sunday night after a traffic stop led investigators to crack cocaine, heroin, a stolen handgun and a large amount of cash.
The Montgomery County RANGE (Regional Agencies Narcotics & Gun Enforcement) Task Force said Darryl J. Martin, 33, fled from officers following a traffic stop in Butler Township, but was found, deputies said, later after trying to hide a large amount of heroin from police.
At the hotel, deputies said they recovered several ounces of crack cocaine, several ounces of heroin, one stolen handgun and a large amount of cash. The street value for the drugs seized was estimated to be more than $20,000.
Martin was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and booked on drug trafficking charges and additional charges will be reviewed with the Montgomery County Prosecutors Office.
The task force continues to investigate this case.
