GREENVILLE -- A father and mother are facing assault charges after their 2-week-old baby was hospitalized with broken bones and internal bleeding.
Cody Cantrell, 21, was arrested Friday at his residence, 740 Greenville Nashville Rd., Greenville, by Darke County Sheriff's deputies. He is facing felonious assault and child abuse charges. A summons has been issued to the infant's mother, Chelsea Hartman, 20, of Greenville. she faces a felony child abuse charge.
The case was initiated on November 28, when a 2-week-old baby was transported to Dayton Childrenâs Medical Center with broken legs, a broken arm, swelling and bleeding on the brain, bleeding on the spine, and facial bruising. Greenville Police.
The baby has been placed into the custody of the Darke County Children Services and has since been released from Dayton Childrenâs Medical Center.
