DAYTON -- There's a new training tool out there for Ohio police officers and it's designed to save lives.  Attorney General Mike DeWine was in Dayton on Tuesday to show off the new mobile training devices.

The driving simulator lets officers practice driving in any type of road condition, while the firearm simulator includes hundreds of situations so officers can practice making split-second decisions.

"You do actually get stressed," Officer Brian Goody from the Trotwood Police Department told us about the simulator. "It puts your mind through the ringer and it tests your skills.  When you're in a situation like this, you have no clue what the outcome is going to be.  The first time he was compliant.  The second time he threw his helmet at us."

The training provided by the simulator is provided free of charge by the state's Peace Officer Training Academy.
