DAYTON -- A 12-week-old German Shepherd puppy abandoned with a potentially deadly virus is doing much better these days.
The puppy, nicknamed Lucy, was abandoned, weak and left to die at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.
Lucy was dying from the highly contagious virus parvo.
Thanks to help from a local vet clinic and weeks of constant medical care, Lucy is recovering nicely.
Although she's not out of the woods just yet, she's expected to make a full recovery.
