UPDATED:Police Search for Suspect in Brookville Bank Robbery

BROOKVILLE -- A bank robber got away with money Thursday morning but not before a witness followed him and his getaway driver and took down the license plate number.

Brookville Police said a man walked into the Huntington Bank on Arlington Road about 10:30 a.m. Thursday and handed a teller a note demanding cash. According to police, the note claimed he had a gun but a weapon was not displayed during the robbery.

Witnesses say the man fled the bank on foot, but eventually got into the passenger side of a blue Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck with Indiana plates.

The truck was reported stolen.

One witness told police he followed the truck in his vehicle until he got the tag number -- 51179 -- and then returned to the bank.

The robbery suspect is described as a 25- to 35-year-old white male with reddish or brown hair, unshaven and about 5-foot-10. He was wearing an olive green hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and brown or tan Carhartt style pants.

A description of the driver was not available.

Investigators say the suspect also might have been involved in another bank robbery in Indiana.

Chief Douglas Jerome said the suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approach; rather, call 911 immediately.
