DAYTON -- A water main leak along Salem Avenue near Cornell Drive on Thursday morning has reduced traffic along Salem Avenue to one lane in each direction and left about 80 homes without water pressure. Good Samaritan Hospital has not been affected.
Homes without water are generally in the area of Salem between Kenwood Avenue and Cumberland Avenue; Fountain Avenue between Linda Vista Avenue and Salem; Kenilworth Avenue between Salem and Wheatley Avenue; and Wabash Avenue between Hudson Avenue and Salem.
No water boil advisory is required at this time; if that changes, individual residences will be notified directly by the Water Department.
Water Department crews are on the scene making repairs. Repairs are expected to be made later Thursday. Repairs to Salem Avenue will be completed over the next several days.
Water customers needing to report issues should contact the Water Distribution hotline at 937-333-4905.
