BUTLER TOWNSHIP -- A man is behind bars tonight after police say he attacked his estranged girlfriend and tried to take their daughter.
Butler Township Police were called to the TownePlace Suites around 11:30 Monday morning.
A worker called 911, telling dispatchers a guest inside one of the rooms was being attacked.
The suspect was identified as Kevin Martin, who was already gone by the time police arrived at the hotel.
"It's very concerning, that's why we were trying to locate the suspect," says Butler Township Police Chief John Cresie.
It didn't take long for officers to track him down at a nearby McDonald's.
Martin faces domestic violence, rape and illegal possession of a gun charges.
Police say Martin and the victim have a 9-month-old daughter together.
It's unclear why the situation got so violent so quickly.
The woman and baby were taken to the hospital to be checked out. They're expected to be OK.
