The Path to Citizenship

DAYTON -- Dayton prides itself on being an immigrant-friendly city.  Sunday, community leaders led a prayer vigil hoping to pave a way for citizenship.

Faith leaders, immigrant advocates, and labor groups all gathered to show support for a comprehensive immigration reform policy.

Vigils like the one in downtown Dayton near city hall also are happening across the state of Ohio.  They say Congress must pass legislation so families won't be torn apart.

"My greatest hope is that people don't live in fear. We have children who live in fear. Parents can't get driver's licenses because they don't have legal status,"said Sister Maria Stacey.

Dayton is filled with immigrants from more than 100 countries.
