DAYTON -- "Stand Up For Ohio" has launched a week-long bus tour in hopes of gaining more education for Ohio schools.  The organization spoke at the Dayton Boys Prep Academy today.

Faith, community and labor leaders came together demanding Governor Kasich and the Ohio legislature support Dayton's children by fully funding public education and the Third Grade Reading Guarantee.

Some people say more parental involvement is key to positive change.

One parent, Maria Holt, believes "we have to become more involved; know what's going on at the Dayton board of education, become knowledgeable about these issues, and just rally around what's going on in Columbus as it relates to education, and the support of our students and support the administrators who want to support our kids."

"Stand Up For Ohio" claims funding for early childhood education is inadequate and Dayton's children are suffering as a result.
