WPAFB -- Wright Patterson Air Force Base personnel have spent this week training for different disaster situations. On Thursday, the training scenario centered around a tornado touching down and knocking over a bus, injuring 54 people.
"We've learned for recent events like the Boston Marathon bombings that it's important to practice a routinely practice emergency procedures and operations in order to maintain a high degree of readiness for our emergency response personnel," WPAFB Deputy Fire Chief Tracy Young told us.
Despite budget and sequester cuts, base officials say safety is a top priority. There will be these types of exercises at the base throughout the year.
