INDIANAPOLIS -- A Dayton firefighter is recovering after a two-car wreck in Indianapolis early Thursday morning.
Darell Perkins, 51, says he was returning to his hotel after playing the bagpipes at an event for a firefighter's convention. That's when he was hit by a white Ford pickup truck.
Perkins was trapped inside his truck for a short while. He was taken to a hospital with a broken wrist. The driver of the pickup was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
Perkins is a firefighter at a volunteer department in Dayton, Box 21 Rescue Squad.
