KETTERING -- It's been Spring for several weeks, but the warmer temperatures finally made it official.

"Oh it's gorgeous," said Anna West, Siebenthaler's customer, "Absolutely gorgeous."

West and her kids enjoyed the warmer temperatures by playing on a swing set at Siebenthaler's, while looking for some supplies.

"We are here looking for flower pots," said West.

"They're doing a little bit of planting but nothing major right now," said Michael Bellanca, Manager for Siebenthaler's.

He says it's a little early to plant some flowers, but there are some that can take the cold.

"Some of the cool season vegetables they can plant out," he said, "Pansies of course those are one of the cool season plants, some of the perennials that are not as tender, they can go ahead and do some of those now."

His advice is it's best to wait until early May when the threat of frost is gone.

But he was hoping the snow was gonna be gone sooner, because it affected his business.

"It has dipped sales somewhat in the month of March," said Bellanca, "Every couple of years we have a cold March and it kind of pushes things up into April and May."

But now that Spring is in bloom, along with the flowers, he's convinced his business will start to grow any day now.

"If the weather cooperates and we don't get a ton of rain in the Spring time, just the normal moderate Spring rains, I think we'll rebound pretty nicely," he said.
