TROTWOOD--High school girls had their dreams come true today; getting ready for the biggest event of their high school career.
Shoes, jewelry, and racks of prom dresses all free thanks to Modern Day Cinderella.
The organization focuses on empowering young girls and building their self esteem.
They've been collecting donations all year long to help families struggling to make ends meet.
"A lot of people are laid off, or just can't afford it or have multiple children and we feel that this is our way of giving back to our community and let girls know that circumstances should not prohibit them from being able to do something that they really want to do," said Dayatra Towles from Modern Day Cinderella.
It was the third year for the event. Organizers hope to help more young girls next year, but say reaching just one girl makes a difference.
