DAYTON -- A man was arrested after family members said he threatened everyone in the home, destroyed furniture and then fought with police.
Dayton Police were called to 64 Fountain Avenue by an 11-year-old boy Monday night who said his mother was being hit by her brother.
When police arrive, family members told them Shawn Anthony Malone was intoxicated and agitated and threatening everyone in the house. They said he pulled over a large wooden china cabinet, shattering the glass. He allegedly punched holes in the wall and knocked over a second floor banister.
When his sister said she was calling police, she told police later that Malone said, "I'll punch the police."
Family members said Malone was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was not taken his medication, which has been an ongoing issue.
Police met up with Malone outside the house but he refused to follow orders, at which time an officer deployed his Taser, which struck Malone in the chest.
"Malone immediately pulled the probe out of his chest, yelling 'Is that all you got'," the police report reads.
Two officers struggled to subdue Malone, while he reportedly punched them and wrestled with them, even after being struck by one of the officer's flashlights.
"After continuing to struggle, Malone became exhausted and placed his hands behind his back to be handcuffed," the release states.
Malone was transported to Grandview Hospital, treated then transported to the Montgomery County Jail. One of the officers also was treated at the hospital.
Malone is facing domestic violence, criminal damaging, assault, felonious assault and resisting arrest charges.
