Man Charged With Baseball Bat Attack at Bar

DAYTON -- A man was charged with felonious assault and criminal damaging after police say he attacked a man with a baseball bat and slashed several tires at Loch Ness Bar, 752 Huffman Ave.

Police arrested Justin Perkins about 3 a.m. Tuesday as he was driving away from the bar. Police say he and the inside of the car he was driving was covered in blood after he assaulted a man in the parking lot with a wooden baseball bat.

The owner of the bar told police that Perkins had also pulled a knife on bar patrons and had slashed four vehicle tires in the parking lot.

Police said the alleged victim of the baseball bat assault had a golf ball size swollen contusion on his elbow from when, he said, he raised his arms in self-defense.

He told police Perkins had been kicked out of the bar once but had returned when he and others were leaving the bar, which is when the attack allegedly occurred.

The alleged victim and Perkins were treated at a hospital. Perkins was later transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
