CLARK COUNTY -- A Springfield man is facing domestic violence charges after the mother of his child said he punched her and their 8-month-old baby during a drunken argument.
Springfield Police said they responded to a house in the 1900 block of West Washington Street early Sunday regarding a domestic dispute.
The mother of the child said Marcus Cross, 27, of Springfield was causing a problem and she wanted him to leave. Cross and the woman are the parents of the 8-month-old baby.
The woman said Cross was drunk and arguing with her while she was holding the child. During the argument, the woman said, Cross punched her twice in the face, and one of those punched hit their child.
Police said there was a knot and bruise on the right side of the child's head and an abrasion and swelling on the woman's cheek.
Cross was found nearby and arrested. He faces domestic violence, assault and child endangering charges.
