WARREN COUNTY -- A Dayton man has been arrested after a woman says he approached her at an ATM and demanded she withdraw money for him.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office said William D. Jackson, 47, threatened the woman with a hammer Saturday afternoon at the PNC Bank at 8600 Landen Dr. in Deerfield Township. Deputies said he fled in a grey pickup truck, which was reportedly stolen, when someone else pulled into the parking lot.
Deputies caught up with Jackson nearby on a bike trail after he abandoned the truck. Warren County Coronerâs Investigator Ron Robertson, who was in the area, detained Jackson until deputies arrived.
They said Jackson had taken an unknown number of pills prior to the incident and required hospitalization.
Jackson will be charged with Aggravated Robbery and Receiving Stolen Property.
