UPDATE: Bond was set a half a million dollars for Allen Stevenson, the man accused of kidnapping and raping a woman inside
his furniture store.
DAYTON -- Police arrested a man accused of kidnapping and raping a 25-year-old woman, inside his furniture store.
Allen Stevenson, 45, is locked up in the Montgomery County Jail. Police said the woman was walking in the area of East Third and Philadelphia early Saturday morning when he forced the woman into his pickup truck, then drove her to his business, at 1322 Linden Ave., where he allegedly sexually assaulted her for nearly 12 hours.
"This was a terrible, traumatic ordeal, over a very long period of time."
Sgt. Larry Tolpin, Dayton Police said.
After being held captive for nearly 12 hours, the woman was able to convince Stevenson to let her go. She made it to the hospital and called Police.
Stevenson was arrested Saturday night at his furniture store on Linden.
Neighbor Marlene Clark said Stevenson also lives in his antique shop and is shocked to hear of the allegations.
"He always seemed so friendly." She said. "But no woman deserves that, not at all."
Police said Stevenson does not have a criminal record.
