LAKEWOOD -- A Colorado family is outraged after a pastor refused to perform a funeral for a lesbian woman.
The family of Vanessa Collier wanted to show a video honoring her life, it included photos of Collier kissing her wife and children.
Minutes before the funeral was set to begin the pastor said he wasn't doing the service if the family didn't take out those pictures.
Her friends and family said they were not taking the pictures out then carried her casket to the funeral home across the street and held the service there.
"This is about not being able to have dignity in death of one of God's children. no matter what the circumstances if you're black, white, brown, gay, lesbian, transgendered. we all deserve that and the church did not afford that to us," said Jose Silva.
The pastor has stuck by his decision and said he gave the family the option to edit the video but they refused.
