HARRISON TOWNSHIP -- Two suspects are in custody after deputies say they're responsible for a home burglary.

It happened last night on Heather Hollow Drive in Harrison Township.

Montgomery County Deputies say the suspects tied up the homeowner with duct tape and then robbed the place.

"I was lying in bed trying to fall asleep and all of a sudden I heard someone at my door and I look up and there's a man with a mask on," said the homeowner to the dispatcher when her called 911.

It was a terrifying discovery, but there was another shocking revelation as he spoke to the dispatcher.

Dispatcher: "Do you know how he got in?" Caller: "Yes and this is what really upsets me." Dispatcher: "What happened?" Caller: "There's a key that i have hidden in one of my stairways in my garage."

Major Daryl Wilson believes this situation could have been avoided.

"Use caution to who you let know your secret places," said Major Daryl Wilson, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrested 19-year-old Bradley Burns later in the night and charged him with burglary.

A second man was also taken into custody, but has not been charged at this time.

Meanwhile, deputies suggest investing in a home alarm or even a good deadbolt.

But for those like Sandy Price, who've lived in the neighborhood for 30 years, she's confident in her community.

"It could happen anywhere it doesn't matter, it could happen in Kettering, Oakwood, Centerville and like I said this is such a peaceful neighborhood," said Price.

Deputies say the thieves took some cash, and iPod and a Kindle Fire from the home.

They also suggest having a chain on the inside of your door, so if someone tries to break in it could stop them from getting inside your home.
