DAYTON--Some University of Dayton students got a tough lesson about locking their doors after thieves made off with thousands of dollars worth of items from inside their home.
Police said the thieves went inside a home located off campus and stole more than $3,600 worth of electronics.
Officers were able to follow footprints in the snow to a nearby parking lot, but lost the tracks from there.
The four male students who lived in that home said it appears as if the burglars got in through an unlocked back door.
