VANDALIA--It was much too cold to go rowing on the river today, but that didn't stop some folks from doing a little training.
The Greater Dayton Rowing Association held a training day at Vandalia's rec center.
Rowers worked up a sweat in a 2,000 meter race.
Organizers say rowing is a great way to warm up muscles and stay in shape during the winter months .
"We've actually got a gentleman i just spoke to that just turned 82 years old and we have a 60's plus masters event with two other people in that age group that just row and have fun," said Mike Thein of the Greater Dayton Rowing Association.
People of all ages were at the family event. As soon as warmer temperatures come, the rowers plan to get back in the water.
