DAYTON -- A semi tractor trailer jackknifed on a hill along Needmore Road, just south of Old Troy Pike, blocking traffic for more than two hours Friday morning. Drivers coming up the hill on Needmore had a  lot to complain about after not one but two semi trucks got stuck.

"I was in the left lane but then I started weaving and sliding 'til you see  where I am now," said truck driver Kameel Shalash.

Jack-knifed and blocking traffic on the hill that is Needmore Road, Shalash's attempts to accelerate didn't get him very far.

"It's uphill, that's first. second there's no service no trucks. I haven't seen any service in two hours," he said.

You heard him right, for two hours he and the truck driver behind him tried to get out with no luck. And it's not just two semi trucks that got stuck, but also three cars.

"I'm stuck behind the truck," said Sheryl Wheeler who agrees this road needs more salt.

"I lost traction and slid off  to the side and can't quite get out," she said.

Finally, tow trucks were able to pull the trucks to safety and plows came and cleared off the street, but that didn't help one driver.

"I'm on the corner of Needmore and Troy," said Carl Miracle who needed a miracle when the cold killed his battery.

"We were coming up off the road, see the truck jack-knife so I pulled over to help and my car died," Miracle said.

Shalash will be a few hours late to make his delivery, but leaves behind some advice for other drivers.

"You gotta be patient with this weather," said Shalash. "All the truck drivers need to be alert, be careful, slow down and if you can postpone your trip that's my advice."

Police tell me they are not that surprised, anytime you mix these weather conditions, with a big hill this may be the result. There were no reports of injuries and Needmore has now reopened.
