SUGARCREEK TOWNSHIP -- Police are investigating a number of sophisticated break-ins happening in a usual quiet community.
Sugarcreek Township Police say three homes have been broken into in the past few days. One of those homes were right off Napa Valley Road.
Barb Tollinger has lived in the same home for 17 years with her partner, Denise.
On Friday, their security became violated when thieves broke in and stole dozens of valuable items.
"You're afraid they're going to come back," said Tollinger.
Tollinger says the crooks came in through the back door before going and disconnecting the garage door.
"When we were trying to put the garage up, the motor would still run, so they'd be able to hear us," she said.
Detectives say the break-ins are through the back door and, seem to be happening in the early evening..
They say the suspects are ringing the doorbells to see if anyone is home before going inside.
Tollinger says they will be getting a security system installed along with other safety measures.
The Sugarcreek neighborhood is coming together to keep an eye out for suspicious activity in the area.
