FAIRBORN -- A mother has been charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence and child endangering after police said she lost control of her vehicle, which flipped into a ditch early Wednesday morning.
Melissa Betts, 31, was charged with OVI, two counts of child endangering and a minor misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance after Fairborn police said her vehicle overturned about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at 1344 Wiley Avenue, near Madison Avenue in Fairborn.
Police said the 7-year-old child was able to crawl out of the vehicle, although the 5-year-old child was restrained in the car seat.
No one was reportedly injured in the crash.
