URBANA -- An 18 year old Urbana High School student is now facing a felony after police say she wrote a threatening message on a bathroom wall, causing the school to go on lock down.
Police officers were actually at the high school for another reason, when they were approached by a student who told them about the message. Officers say they found it on the stall door in the women's rest room. It was written in permanent marker, and said there would be an explosion at the school at a specifically designated time.
After police and school officials investigated the message, they determined it to be a hoax and that Brianna Castle was responsible. Castle is now charged with inducing panic. She was taken to the Tri County Regional Jail.
