HUBER HEIGHTS -- Drastic cuts in the Huber Heights school district. The board voted Wednesday night to cut nearly $6 million from its budget.

The board voted to keep extra curricular activities like band, sports and clubs. However, students will now have to pay for those activities at a much higher cost.

For example, sports, usually cost $225 they will now cost $750 to play.

Instructional classes like ROTC has been cut.

"Without that I don't know what I'm going to do. ROTC has consumed every ounce of my free time. I don't know what I'm going to do now," said Rebecca Goerling, Cadet First Lieutenant.

Also cut 108 positions in the district which includes everything from teachers to administrators to bus drivers.

The board did vote however to save some of those positions and activities by going after a 9.9 mileage levy in May. The district hasn't passed a levy since 2005.
