DETROIT--The Japanese automaker Subaru is recalling more than 600,000 vehicles because of defective puddle lights.
The company says moisture can get into the lights located under the door; melting the plastic and causing them to catch fire.
Subaru's 2010 and 2011 Legacy and Outback models are included in the recall.
Tribeca SUV's from 2006 through 2012 and also Forester SUV's from 2009 through 2012 are also being recalled.
Only 54,000 vehicles actually have the lights, but owners of all recalled vehicles will be notified.
