KETTERING -- Kettering police make a startling discovery during a traffic stop Tuesday night. An officer tried to pull over a driver, but the driver wouldn't stop.
He eventually lost control of the car and jumped the curb on Hastings Drive. The driver of that car got out and ran away.
When police searched the car, they found a five-year-old boy strapped to a car seat inside.
"He was a very personable, well-adjusted 5-year-old. He didn't seem to be greatly bothered by the situation other than the fact that he was sitting alone in a car waiting for someone to get him," said Sergeant Lee Sanders
Police say the man was a relative of the boy and the five-year-old's mother was aware the child was with him.
Police found the man at a nearby bar.
The boy's grandfather picked up the child and took him home.
