UPDATE: Detectives Investigate After Woman Falls Down Stairs

UPDATE: DAYTON--A Dayton woman is spending the  New Years Holiday in the hospital after falling down a flight of stairs.

Police are investigating whether the fall  was accidental, or if she was pushed down the stairs.

Police said  38-year-old Francis Harvey took a nasty spill  inside a  home on Pleasant Avenue.

According to the 911 call, her daughter found her at the bottom of the stairs and tried to revive her. Medics came and took Harvey to the hospital.

Detectives said Harvey had been drinking and  was arguing with her 17- year-old son.

The teenage son was taken into custody for questioning.

Harvey was upgraded from critical condition to stable, Monday afternoon.

DAYTON -- Police on Monday morning are investigating a woman's fall down a flight of stairs at a house on Pleasant Avenue.

Dayton Police told us the woman, whose identity has not yet been released, argued with three people, including her daughter and teenage son, before the fall.

"It is possible and that is what we're looking into right now, if that did happen," said Dayton Police Sgt. Dan Mauch. "She also had been drinking so that may come into play as well."

The woman reportedly also argued or had an altercation with her boyfriend earlier in the week, so police are looking into that, too.

The woman was admitted to Miami Valley Hospital with a head injury. She's listed in critical condition but we're told she is expected to survive.
