SPRINGFIELD--The Ohio State Patrol has reported six car crashes in Clark County and multiple slide offs. Officials say drivers need to use caution on the roads today.
A lieutenant with the Ohio State Highway Patrol says those calls have been coming into the dispatch center since 5:30 this morning.
Clark County is under a level two snow emergency, which means drivers are encouraged to stay off the roads completely.
If you do have to head out here's some advice.
"We would encourage drivers to try to stay in but if they have to go out the first thing is to allow more time to get to their destination. Adjust your speed, slow down. Please leave more distance between vehicles and certainly more distance to make a turn," said Lt. Matt Cleveland from Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Salt and plow trucks are out in masses on the roads today, but they are focusing on the main highways and main roads in Springfield which is why some side roads are causing dangerous road conditions. If you can, officials urge people to stay off the roads.
