DAYTON -- Thanks to generous people in the Miami Valley the family says they will have their most memorable Christmas yet after a real life Grinch stole gifts from children with special needs.

"Merry Christmas, Santa has arrived," said Donna Wilborn as she came to Reggie McCain's home. She said she saw our story of the Grinch who tried to steal Christmas from this family, and knew she had to do something. "These are going to you guys," she said.

The Christmas tree is now full of gifts, which is a complete turn around from Christmas Eve, when the tree was empty.

"It was a push over the edge, it was overwhelming," said McCain.

"Everything that I worked hard for to put a smile on my kids face is all gone; it was too much to handle," said the children's mother Andree Dickerson.

It was so much to handle, Dickerson had an anxiety attack and spent most of Christmas Eve in the hospital.

"I was so stressed to see how I was going to put something under the tree to open Christmas morning because I couldn't see them not having any gifts, so I cried myself to sleep," she said. "I was nauseated all night and woke up the next morning with chest pains."

"Me and my cousin we sat on that couch right there and we started crying cause this hasn't happened before," said daughter Adriaun Johnson. "He told me it's not going to happen again, cause he's going to save me, my moms going to save me, everybody in the house is going to save me."

Thanks to kind people like Wilborn, The Grinch who stole their Christmas gifts was not able to steal their Christmas joy.

"That one bad person, the bad people, who ever did this, the good outweighs that," said McCain.

"The blessings keep coming, Dayton's not as bad as people think, there are some good people left," said Dickerson.

Christmas is about giving not taking, and I just thank God that he put this on my heart to indulge in this unfortunate situation to give what I can give, to do what I can do," said Wilborn.

Tonight, police are still looking for the thieves in this case.
