TROY -- A Kentucky man is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said they found nearly $9,000 of marijuana following a Monday morning traffic crash in Miami County.
Trooper said Brandon D. Means, 27, of Lexington, Ky., was driving 89 mph on I-75 in a 2013 Chevrolet Captiva. When the trooper attempted to catch up to Means, the Captiva struck a commercial vehicle from behind, causing a crash near milepost 83.
Troopers said they found the 885 grams of hydroponic marijuana that had become dislodged from the bumper during the crash. The driver also was driving under suspension, troopers said.
Means was transported to Upper Valley Medical for his injuries and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies. If convicted, he could face up to two years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.
