CHAMPAIGN COUNTY --  Heavy snow, sleet and rain caused traffic headaches for many people throughout the Miami Valley Friday night.
Snow emergencies have been issued for several counties and some counties are encouraging people to stay off the roads completely.
In Champaign County, where it is a level 2 snow emergency, more than 60 accidents have been reported in just the last 24 hours.   Many of those accidents included drivers simply losing control and sliding off the road.
The Champaign County dispatch center says their office has been flooded with calls.
"Today we've experienced a high call volume of accidents, injury accidents, a lot of slid offs throughout the area, they've seemed I be mostly on the state routes, State Route 468, U.S. highway 36, and I think a lot of it is drivers are just not slowing down," said Mindy North, Communications Director for Champaign County.
Several highways were also shut down because workers just couldn't get to all the roads.
"Level two roads are hazardous they recommend not to be on the roadways. Salt trucks can't keep up with the drifting snow Sheriff Melvin made that decision as well as the engineer for the county," said North.
Salt trucks were out in masses on the roads all day Friday.
Some employees had to work double shifts just to make sure all the roads were covered.
"Our guys are doing everything that they can. With the wind that we have it's a lot of blowing. That's our biggest problem right now," said Gene Sandy, Transportation Manager for Champaign County.
If you do have to go out, please be safe and drive slow.
