DAYTON -- Santa Claus made a special stop in Dayton Friday to help a little girl who is helping others this Christmas season. Santa was invited to the Christ the King Church to assist with a 4 year old little girl's special project.
Jada inspired the help of the Dayton Police to raise money for hat and mittens for some of our immigrant community. Officers were so moved the 4 year old's mission that they raised $600 for the project.
Santa stayed around long enough so all the kids let him know their last minute wishes.
Jami Withrow, Jada's grandmother, told us this is a great life lesson for her granddaughter, "If she's blessed, she needs to share those blessings and hopefully instill that in her at a young age."
Lt. Wendy Stiver told us, most of the kids who received the hat and mittens today are immigrants from African nations, "We communicated with some of our partners in the community to connect with immigrant and refugee children who might be in greater need of things like hats and mittens."
Dayton officers say they plan to help Jada each year in assisting whatever community is in need.
