COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) --Governor John Kasich has sidestepped a decision about whether a condemned inmate was too fat to be humanely executed by sparing him on the grounds that he had poor legal representation.
Kasich said today that Ronald Post's death sentence for the 1983 killing of Elyria motel clerk Helen Vantz would be commuted to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
