WASHINGTON, DC -- More than 14,000 members of the community Mike Turner serves in Congress were furloughed on Monday as spending cuts took effect at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Turner took to the House floor on Tuesday protesting the cuts. He said he voted against "this mess."
he said the House has passed a bill to fix it. The Senate hasn't yet done the same thing.
"It's time for the president to keep his promise he made during his election campaign to work to set aside sequestration," Turner said during his speech on the House floor.
