DAYTON -- A local group is trying to start a new tradition in Downtown Dayton.

Food trucks lined Jefferson Street.

"This is our third season," said Daniel Keinney, proud owner and cook for Caribbacanas food truck, "I love Caribbean food, since I first went to the Bahamas and Jamaica. I fell in love with the food."

His specialty is jerk pulled pork.

"The spiciness of it the aromas just the whole, the way the food is itself, I just love it," said Keinney.

The crowd on Jefferson Street could be a monthly thing if the city approves "Food Truck Park."

"Dayton Ohio right here, has that cool factor," said Lisa Grigsby, Synergy Incubators, "We just need people to know about it and come down here support our local entrepreneurs and they will find out that it's a great city to be in."

If you're still not sold, a word of advice from a local entrepreneur.

"I strongly urge that people get down and help support the local food trucks that are down here," said Keinney, "We're here banging this stuff out  everyday whenever we can, show support for the ma and pa shops."

Fourteen trucks were at Friday night's event. In all, 21 food truck vendors operate through out the city from day-to-day.
