KETTERING -- John E. Maberry, 56, of Centerville was charged on Friday with Abduction after police said he locked his girlfriend in a closet.
Police responded to a disturbance call on Thursday in the 5900 block of Bigger Road. Police said a woman was running on Bigger Road and screaming for help.
She was reportedly running from Maberry, who was her boyfriend, after an argument with him at Cardinal Fitness on Bigger Road.
Police said Maberry forced the female into a closet while threatening to kill her. The female was confined in the closet for 10-15 minutes, before he opened the door and she was able to escape. He was booked into the Kettering Jail and later transported to the Montgomery County Jail. Maberry was released out of jail after posting his $25,000 bond.
