UNDATED -- A new report estimates 42 women die each day from prescription drug overdoses.
The report by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention found overdose deaths quadrupled among women and more than doubled among men.
This means more woman die from prescription drug overdoses than in car crashes each year.
CDC researchers believe much of the increase is due to the widespread use of prescription painkillers.
