HUBER HEIGHTS -- Firefighters took advantage of recent rains Tuesday morning and got out on the Mad River for the river rescue training.
One firefighter, however, gave the team some real-world experience when he was knocked into the water during some turbulence.
The firefighter, who has yet to be identified, was wearing the proper safety equipment and received only a laceration on his head.
The rescue team was able to quickly pull him to safely. The firefighter was transported to a hospital, where he was treated and released.
There were 13 firefighters participating in the training.
