DARKE COUNTY -- A woman was killed and two others were injured in June 30 crash just west of Arcanum.
Mabel L Landis, 83, of Lewisburg died from injuries sustained in the crash. She was the driver of a 2010 Toyota Tacoma that was traveling northbound on State Route 503.
Darke County deputies say a silver 2001 Oldsmobile Alero, driven by 18-year-old Adam J. Bartle of New Paris failed to stop at the intersection of SR 503 and Hollansburg Arcanum Road. The Alero reportedly struck the Tacoma, causing the Tacoma to crash into a front yard of a nearby residence.
Bartle was transported to Wayne HealthCare, where he was treated and released. He was the only occupant in the Alero.
The passenger of the Tacoma, Marshall Stikeleather, 91, Lewisburg was transported to Wayne HealthCare. Stikeleather was later transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Spirit Medical Transport (MICU) for further evaluation and is listed in critical condition.
Landis was pronounced dead at the scene.
