MASON-- The Vortex roller coaster at Kings Island gave its 40
millionth ride on Saturday.
The coaster ranks sixth for the most rides given on any coaster at the park. The Racer is number one with 98 million rides.
The Vortex sends riders flying at speeds exceeding 55 miles per hour through vertical loops and corkscrews.
The coaster was the only one in the world with six inversions when it opened on April 11, 1987.
