DAYTON -- People are gearing up for one of Dayton's biggest events of the summer: the Cityfolk Festival.
Organizers are busy preparing for the festival, which is taking place at RiverScape this weekend.
The yearly event celebrates diverse cultures through music, food and the arts.
There is also a fireworks show Sunday night.
Several downtown streets will be temporarily closed from Thursday, June 27, through early Monday, July 1, to accommodate the Cityfolk Festival and City of Dayton fireworks display.
Your best bet is to come downtown before 8 p.m. June 30, when additional roads will be closed for the fireworks.
Following are the scheduled street closures, provided by the City of Dayton Police Department and Five Rivers MetroParks.
Beginning 3 p.m. June 27 (until 2 a.m. July 1):
⢠Patterson Blvd. from First St. to Monument Ave.
Beginning 6 p.m. June 27 (until 2 a.m. July 1):
⢠Monument Ave. from Jefferson St. to Patterson Blvd.
⢠Southbound Riverside Dr. from White Allen St. to Monument Ave.
⢠St. Clair St. from First St. to Monument Ave.
⢠Harries St. from the WorkflowOne Garage to Monument Ave.
⢠the WSU entry/exit to Monument Ave.
⢠the Engineers Club entry/exit to Monument Ave.
Beginning 5:30 p.m. June 28:
⢠Riverside Dr. between White Allen and Monument Ave.
⢠Monument Ave. between Patterson Blvd. and Sears St.
Beginning 5 p.m. June 30:
⢠Jefferson St. between E. First St. and Monument Ave.
⢠River Corridor Dr. (open for pedestrian traffic only)

⢠Webster St. between Herman Ave. and N. Keowee (local traffic only during show)
⢠the top of the exit ramp for South I-75 at Route 4 will be closed to Webster St.
⢠the top of the exit ramp for North I-75 at Route 4 will be closed to Webster St.
Access to businesses in these areas will be maintained during the business day on Friday.
The Cityfolk Festival runs June 28-30 and the City of Dayton fireworks display is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. Sunday.
Daily admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children.
